Uses of individual Ingredients:

BEE'S WAX:

Beeswax is a natural substance secreted by female bees often used in cosmetics, especially lip balm. It has moisturizing properties, can help protect the lips from the sun's harmful rays, and has a pleasant smell. It can also prove beneficial in preventing infections and cold sores. Beeswax balm has uses other than lip balm, and it is relatively inexpensive and easy to find.

COCONUT OIL:

Coconut oil is an excellent skin conditioner containing medium-chain triglycerides, naturally occurring fats that deeply penetrate, moisturize, and act as a protective barrier against environmental and free radical damage. The oil also provides sun protection by screening 20 percent of ultraviolet exposure. Coconut oil contains natural antimicrobial and antibacterial agents; caphrylic and capric acids. Its ability to smooth the skin while infusing it with anti-oxidants makes it a perfect anti-aging moisturizer. Moreover, it contains vitamin E, another antioxidant popular for hastening the recovery of skin abrasions, burns, and other traumas.

CASTOR OIL:

Cosmetic manufacturers use castor oil as a humectant (substances that absorb water from the air) to keep moisture close to the skin's surface due to its water-binding abilities. It also increases the viscosity in formulations allowing the ingredients to become more stable. It also gives you that beautiful shine in your lip balm and glosses.
